This was our first summer with a boat. What a difference! We were actually out on the lake, instead of hanging out on the shore and wading in. Caleb, Eli & even Marcus learned to wake board. It has been so much fun watching them enjoy the water. Ryan was so excited, he even took a nap in his lifejacket.

This summer Caleb opted out of swim team and join a basketball team with other boys from our ward. He had a lot of fun and learned a lot. I was so happy to see him enjoy playing basketball.

Annual Beals/Johnson campout

This year we camped near the Blue Ridge resevoir again. I only got 2 pictures!, but it was a fun year. On the drive, I turned around and noticed that Marcus was wearing the t-shirt that Caleb & Eli have wore in previous years when camping. I can't believe it has survived! This year we also invited some mutual friends, Marshall & Lynndsey Ward. It was fun having another family there.
We took an inflatable kayak and swam around on Saturday.

This boy takes his scouting seriously.
He is a Wolf cub and built this birdhouse with Ryan.
Now that's "pretty neat!"

Swim Team

This was Marcus' first year on the swim team. He was VERY hesitant at first. He's a great swimmer, but was so scared to swim on the team that it took 2 meets before he would race. After bribing him with a new bike, he placed 1st and 2nd throughout the season! Eli pulled out a hat trick at the finals with a first in Free, Back & Fly!

The young women in our ward helped out at Feed My Starving Children one day this summer. We were able to package "manna" to be sent to different countries around the world. I took Caleb & Eli with me. It was a great experience!

Happy Birthday America!

We did nothing that is traditionally patriotic for this holiday. But, I suppose we enjoyed our freedoms and liberties! The Scoresby's invited us to their cabin for a few days. We had a lot of fun especially on our day trip to Kinder Crossing.
