Boy or a girl?

I thought I'd have some fun with this one. Since I love geocaching so much I decided to "cache" the sex of our fourth child for your geocaching pleasure. You'll need to physically go to the following coordinates and find the "johnson baby cache" and you'll know if it's a boy or a girl! Having a hand held GPS unit will help immensly.

Using map datum "WGS 84"
N 33 degrees 38.554 minutes
W 111 degrees 53.835 minutes

For those of you unable or incapable of dialing in on such location, we'll let everyone know at some point in the future...

Have fun!

A New Toy!!!

I'm so excited! I just got a new lens for my camera that I've been wanting for several years.
I've read about, tried out a few friends', looked at sample pics... And, I finally got it.
It's awesome! Why didn't I get this sooner?
I guess cause it costs $$$!
Here are the first two pics I took with it. Nothing spectacular,
but they show one of the reasons I've been wanting it.

See how in the 1st pic you can read "20D" on the box? And, in the 2nd pic it's blurred out nicely? This lens's aperture can be set as large as 1.4! (that's geek camera talk for "it can really blur out the background on portraits")

He's 1!

Aren't 1st Birthdays fun?
I know, the boy won't remember any of it.
But, it's so fun to watch them dig into a cake for the first time!

READY TO GO!
"Are you sure you're not going to tell me, NO?"

" Oh, Yeah! I'll take some more of that!"

Birthday Fun

Eli's birthday is Feb 3rd and Marcus's birthday is Feb 13th. So, we've had lots of fun this month.
Grandma and Grandpa Martinsen came by during lunchtime. They brought Eli a Happy Meal for lunch and Legos! Eli loves to build with them!
Then, Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came over for dinner. Well, they took us to dinner and then we headed home for cake, ice cream and presents!

Eli loves his new horse! He rides it around with his hat, pistol and whip. He is NOT a cowboy! He is Indiana Jones!

A Fun Day

Ry and I headed up to Snowbowl for some fun in the snow, thanks to some free tickets snagged at the Warren Miller film. We had a great time. It was only my
3rd time ever snowboarding and each time has been several years apart. So, even though I'm a scaredy cat sometimes, I did improve, thanks to Ryan being such a patient teacher. I can handle the blue runs with a little snowplowing when necessary. He really does have a knack for teaching people athletic things.

The only part I'm STILL mad about is forgetting my camera!!! Me!, I forgot my camera!

If you're curious about what our boys were up to while we were gone, check here:

New Year's Day

New Year's Eve was uneventful. Wait a minute. Is puking all day, then falling asleep early considered uneventful? Hmmm...

Well, the next day we all felt much better. So, we headed to the annual Johnson get together at Val & Gayla's house.

Several years ago a tradition began. Uncle Val throws money into the pool and the older cousins jump in and snag it.

My kids haven't ever shown much interest. But, this year they decided it looked fun!

Caleb's approach: Eli had a different approach:
They actually each did this more than once!
