Ryan spent the last couple of months researching and outfitting himself for backpacking. Here he is on his first trek into the great outdoors with his new gear. With all of the stuff going on in our household that weekend (sports, church, etc...), he ended up going all the way to Daisy Mountain. It's about 2 miles from our house. Great place to test things out though!

Why can all of my kids get themselves out of the Bumbo?

After a camping trip, the boys used our "homemade washing machine" to wash the sleeping bag.

When you're the Star Student in Eli's Kindergarten class, you get to take the class mascot, "Ella the Elephant" home for the weekend and record in the journal all of the fun things you did together.

New Year's Day

On New Year's Day we had the traditional Johnson lunchtime feast at Val & Gayla's house in Litchfield Park.
The boys were more prepared this year with swimming suits! On the drive over, Caleb decided that he would only jump into the water for a $100 bill. But, the lure of money proved to great for him, and he jumped for $10. I would have jumped in for $100, but didnt' see anything over $20.
