Caleb Buys a Webkins...

The other night, Ryan and Caleb went to Walgreen's near our home to pick up a Redbox movie. While there, Caleb saw a Webkins animal that he just had to have. Ryan told him that he could come back and buy it later with his own $.
As soon as they got home Caleb ran upstairs and counted out the $7. Neither of us felt like driving back to Walgreen's. So, Ryan told him to ride is bike and get it himself!

"What?, He's only 6! And, that's 3 miles round trip!" I thought.

Caleb said, "But, I don't think I'm old enough to go by myself."

Ryan assured him that he was old enough and told him to go get his bike.

"You know I'm going to follow him the whole way in the car?" I told Ryan.

But, Ryan had a different plan:
He trailed Caleb the whole way on his skateboard.
Hid behind a pillar while Caleb went inside and paid.
Listened as Caleb came out shouting, "I got it! Whoo Hoo! Yeah! I got it!"
Watched as Caleb carried it in his teeth while riding home.

It was only after he got home that we noticed his flat tire!

I guess Caleb doesn't like chicken marinaded in limes!
I agreed that it was pretty bad and made him some pb & j.
Caleb handed this note to me and Ryan congratulated him for
"putting his request in writing."
translation (just in case):
"Mom, Please don't ever put limes in my chicken again.
Love, Caleb
To: Mom
From: Caleb"

Norah Juliene Johnson

Friends:
April went into labor Saturday morning (5/16/09) and had to be rushed down via ambulance to St. Joseph's hospital due to placental abruption (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placental_abruption). At 22 weeks, little Norah did not survive and was stillborn at 5:40 am. She was beautiful! She was 11 inches long and weighed 1 pound, 9.8 ounces. She looked a lot like our 3 boys. April and I got to spend all day and most of the night with her before we gave her a kiss and said a difficult goodbye. We'll be having a simple burial service for her on Friday that we are looking forward to.
We have been overwhelmed with love and support from so many friends and family. Your prayers and thoughts in our behalf have truly lifted us and have made a difference. A mere "thank you" seems inadequate to express the gratitude and appreciation we feel to everyone for mourning with us.
We are so grateful that our marriage has been sealed for time and all eternity in the temple. Because of this, we know that our family unit will continue beyond this life, and we will be with her again when our short duration on this earth is over. - Ryan

Casualties of Bedrest

My boys have been so responsible throughout this whole bedrest thing.
Every morning they get themselves dressed,
brush their ownteeth,
clean up breakfast
and even help pack lunches.
At night they bathe themselves,
brush their own teeth,
get pjs on,
etc...
Who am I to be picky about matching clothing or highwaters?
